The Owners

"Our first ever trip to Turkey was in 1989. We stayed in the centre of Hisaronu, which at that time only had a post office and two shops.

The main street in Hisaronu consisted of the houses of the local population; people growing their own fruit and vegetables, and drying tobacco leaves in the garden.

The people were so welcoming and friendly and above all they adored children of all ages. We enjoyed Turkey so much that we have been every year since, without exception.

We have made many friends over the years, and still keep in touch with them (they never forget a face). From that first holiday in 1989 we have seen the village change into the hustle and bustle that it is now and still love the atmosphere and the people.

We had talked about buying property in Hisaronu for many years, then in 2003 whilst on holiday for Sonja's 40th birthday, we saw 'the Yellow Villa' and fell in love instantly. Needless to say we made an offer and are now its proud owners.

At present we are renting it out during the holiday season and hope to eventually retire to Turkey.
